Formed in 1993, Jehovah Chang was a decade of effort by three childhood friends originally from Rockledge, FL. Wesley Wolfe, Kevin Flack and Dan McNally spent their adolescence writing and recording some of the best pop songs to ever come out of central FL. Originally called Fuzzcumber, the trio decided it was time for a name change once a more serious direction was chosen for the band.

Once settled on the name Jehovah Chang....the 3 friends started working on material for a upcoming release. With two years behind them, Jehovah Chang finally finished their first release "Life sucks when your a pussy". Originally released as a tape...this recording was a definitive step for this remarkable band. And for the next few years Jehovah Chang played the local scene only a handful of times...always more focused on the song writing and recording aspects of being a band.

In 2001, internal conflicts resulted in bassist Dan McNally leaving. The position was filled by two friends, Curtis Dashner(bass) and Tim Allen(guitar). With this realignment in full swing the decision was made to relocate the entire band to Chapel Hill, NC in the summer of 2001. Immersing themselves with a process of rebuilding, Jehovah Chang perfected material for their second release.

A self-titled full length, this second release was a remarkable example of the pop song formula used right!! Song after song of catchy hooks, unforgettable lyrics and emotive song writing. All wrapped up in a dark melancholy package. But even with these accomplishments behind them...a solid member line-up was impossible for Jehovah Chang. Tim and Curtis called it quits in the fall of 03'.

In a state of rest, Wes and Kevin decided that something new might need to be done in order to continue their mission to write and create. So in the fall of 2003, Shane Purvenas joined Jehovah Chang on Keyboard to bring back the lost element of rhythm to the crippled band. After developing the sound and realigning the songs to fit a keyboard format, Jehovah Chang was once again on its feet. Playing out in their new hometown of Chapel Hill, NC was becoming common place, and things were finally looking up.

In the winter of 03' Jehovah Chang felt the need to once again have a real bassist to accommodate the drums. As a result, former bassist Dan McNally was asked to join back with his childhood band mates and continue were they left off. So after a move to NC, Jehovah Chang was finally prepared to close their chapter on member changes and lineup difficulties. But, unfortunately it was to late.... The internal lifeline of this unforgettable band was drawn to a premature end. In the summer of 2004, Jehovah Chang called it quits after a decade of brilliant song writing and personal release.

"I will always support this band because the song writing is undeniable, and it deserves to be recognized.....just listen.......you'll agree!" -Cameron Brintle
